As a kindergarten teacher, it’s often my job to teach phonics to preschool aged English language learners. Songs can be very effective for memorizing the letters and their sounds, but most online phonics songs are geared toward native speakers.
In order to be effective, the letter, sound, and word should be presented together, but most of the currently available songs only have 2 out of 3. The few that have all 3 are too long and complex for young children and their limited attention spans.
The Aa Astronaut song is my solution to this problem. It presents each letter, sound, and word to the tune of a simple yet catchy melody.
